Why Laos is an Ideal Travel Destination

If you travel to Southeast Asia, you may have difficulty pinpointing a destination. After all, this part of the world is home to some culturally and historically interesting countries. However, if you want to relax on your trip, Laos offers the best accommodations for your specific needs.

When you arrive in Laos, you immediately notice that no one is really in a rush. Whilst the country is home to lush vegetation and fertile soils, many locals are happy to harvest rice crops once a year.

The Ideal Destination for Foodies

Plus, guests who arrive in the country surprisingly discover that the food is fresh and flavourful. Nothing is processed. So, instead of bakery goods or chips, foods represent delights such as veggies, sticky rice, steamed fish, and crunchy greens.

An Unforgettable Experience

If you choose to take a tour in the country, you are regularly rewarded with amazing, if not mind-altering, sunsets. Whether you are visiting the Mekong delta region or are viewing the sunset from a rooftop pub, the lack of pollution makes the day’s ending an unforgettable experience.

Kuang Si Falls

Laos travel specialists claim that Laos has a high annual rainfall. As a result, the mountainous terrain and extensive river system also feature several impressive cascades. One of the popular falls is the Kuang Si Falls, which is located just outside Luang Prabang.

Besides the cascades, you can also discover the city’s rustic and beautiful scenery in the form of rice fields, woods, jungles, and hillsides. You really cannot go anywhere without seeing the colour green.

The Hmong Story Cloths

If you are seeking authentic handcrafts, Laos is the ideal spot to make your selections. Whilst much of Southeast Asia’s embroidery is factory-made for visitors, Laos features handicrafts made by local artisans. For example, the Hmong Story Cloths are favourite hand-made crafts, as they are designed to relate myths, folktales, and creation stories.

A Communist Country

Whilst the main religion in Laos is Buddhism, its government is Communist. In fact, Laos is one of only five Communist countries in the world today. The other countries include Vietnam, China, Cuba, and North Korea.

Everyone Wins

Tourists who visit Laos notice the country’s commitment towards providing ecotourism travel. In fact, many communities in Laos feature tourism-based initiatives to support the country’s economy. Therefore, everyone wins when countries concentrate on providing eco-friendly accommodation, tours, and attractions.

A few of the most popular tours available for travellers include the following:

  • Phongsaly Loop
  • Vang Vieng Escape
  • Luang Prabang Trekking Retreat

Something for Everyone

If you plan to visit Southeast Asia but are not sure where to begin or end your journey, you should review the available tours in Laos. Tours are designed for both families and singles, as well as every age groups. There is something for everyone who visits this fascinating country. Therefore, when deciding on a tour, review the travel styles and consider your length of stay and budget before making a decision.

A Basic Guide for Booking Airline Tickets Online

There are several steps that you need to take if you want to plan a fun holiday. Whether you are thinking of travelling alone or with a group of people, it’s important that you start planning for your trip as early as possible. There are plenty of different things that you need to do to ensure that your journey goes smoothly, and making reservations for everything in advance will help you avoid the hassle later on.

One of the first things that you need to do is to book the airline tickets for your flight. There are hundreds of different options that you can consider, as most airlines have a massive network of destinations that they travel to on a regular basis. Now, booking tickets for your flight is fairly easy. All you have to do is go online, log on to the airline’s website, enter in your trip details, and book the tickets. You can pay with VISA, or through any of the payment methods listed on the website.

However, while it may seem pretty simple at first, you should know that there are ways to save money on your airline ticket as well. Frequent flyers seldom pay full price for their ticket. So, how do they do this? Here are a few tips that will help you book airline tickets at the lowest prices.

Available Online Coupons

There are plenty of third-party companies that offer vouchers and coupons which you can avail yourself of. For instance, visit https://www.groupon.co.uk/discount-codes/shops/qatarairways.com in order to get discounts and additional benefits when you book a trip through Qatar Airways. This is one of the most prolific airlines in the world today, travelling to hundreds of destinations on a regular basis. All you need to do is a bit of research before you book your tickets.

Coupon websites generally work with private airlines and other businesses in order to provide amazing discounts to their customers. Once you have purchased the coupon, you can just add the code at the time of the checkout. The price will be slashed from your ticket automatically.

Cookies

Every single airline that has its own website uses cookies. These cookies are stored on your computer, and actively track the pages you visit. If you visit the same airline’s website two or three times a day, in order to compare prices, you will notice that the prices increase slightly.

Now, these cookies are used to trace your activity. If you are interested in booking a flight, the company’s algorithm will automatically bump up the price slightly since they know that you are interested in travelling to that particular destination. A simple way to counter this is to first clear your cache and browser cookies before visiting the website. Another innovative way to save money when booking your ticket is to use a VPN. Numerous experiments have shown that using a VPN to book your tickets can get you the cheapest tickets! It’s a simple technique that many frequent travellers use to save money.

Useful Tips When You Are About To Start A Vacation

When you’re planning to go out for a vacation, then we have a few tips for you to share. If this time you’ve got plans to have an extended holiday, then you should consider a couple of things for enjoying a hassle-free journey and can also do the best for protecting the house as well as the office when you’re away for so many days.

Let’s find out the useful tips that you can consider doing before going out for your vacation—

Arrange the documents

If you’re planning for an offshore tour, don’t forget to get a separate satchel and stuff in the passports of your family members and you along with the boarding passes and similar important documents that you’ll have to produce during the immigration. It is always advised to keep the nationality proof and other documents clarifying your nationality, age, job, the status of residence, and so on. As you’re moving outside the country, don’t forget to keep the driving license as you never know where you have to produce it at the car rental service to hire a vehicle during the vacation.

Exchange currency

When it comes to money, you need to be extra careful. Alongside keeping the international credit card or debit card, you need to have some currency as well. You can exchange it at the airport or you can also do it beforehand from the exchange units of the banks or from other reliable sources.

Protect your residence

Improve the overall security of your residence if you have to leave the property on its own. You can call a locksmith and improve the security of the house/apartment by changing the old padlocks, latches and the safe locks. Install the alarm systems and an HD CCTV powered with the cloud technology so that you can keep a tab on the trespassing in your residence from wherever you are.

Move the important and precious belongings

Rent a cheap self storage temporarily nearby where you can easily move in the important and precious belongings from your residence if you’re not feeling safe to leave them behind unprotected. The self-storage units are available in different sizes and different levels of security. With the assistance of any expert, you can choose and rent the space for the number of days you will be away. On coming back from the vacation, you can get the belongings back and can leave the facility.

Travel Tools: The Top Android Apps and Gadgets for Modern-Day Road Warriors

Traveling is a well-sought pastime by business people, families, couples, and singles.  However, the modern-day road warrior is much more equipped than those taking adventures in the past.  Imagine having to travel decades ago with no handheld devices, smartphones, and no apps!  Today, seasoned travelers use a range of apps from the Android store to accommodate the need to find gas, alternate routes, restaurants, etc.

Gas Buddy

At home, you have your regular routes and likely know the best price in town for gas.  But when you’re traveling or on vacation, it’s unclear as to where to go to find the best prices for gas…until now.  Gas Buddy takes your location into consideration and then provides you with intelligence regarding stations with the best prices.  If you’re an advocate of a type of gas or a particular company, then you can further narrow your search.

Booking

The Booking.com site offers an app so customers can compare hotel room prices.  The map option is especially convenient since travelers can get a better idea as to whether a certain accommodation is out of their way or close to other points on their travel itinerary.  Also, it’s a great backup to have if prior reservations fall through or you’re not pleased with the state of a particular hotel.

7 Minute Workout

We all want to be healthy and look great, but not all of us dedicate the time toward the effort.  It’s especially easy to make excuses when one is traveling, but not if you have the 7 Minute Workout app, your workout partner to help burn calories, build muscle, and accelerate your cardiovascular system.  Who doesn’t have seven minutes to dedicate toward a healthier lifestyle?

Podcast Addict

The number of published podcasts is growing along with the interest of listeners.  It takes a lot of time to peruse through the web and read a bunch of blogs.  However, you can get educated on a range of topics while sitting in your car, cleaning the home, or working at your desk.  Podcast Addict lets you search, download, and listen to podcasts.  Are you searching for something new?  The app features a trending function that will continuously introduce you to fresh content.

Camera 360

Who goes on vacation or an irregular place and doesn’t take pictures to catalog the experience?  The Camera 360 app has over 200 filters to make your pictures look perfect and unique.  Of course, we’re living in the age of social media.  Once you’ve modified your photo to your liking, you can upload and share on your favorite social channels.  Will the weather influence the places you go to take pictures?  There’s an app for that.  Get it on Google Play.

VLC

Well, why would you be satisfied with still frame pictures when you can capture live video footage of your vacation or time on the road?  The VLC app has a load of video formats and adjustable settings.  Furthermore, the app works to accelerate your phone’s hardware so you’ll get the best video capture performance from your smartphone.  If you’re a hardcore videographer you can probably find better apps, yet VLC provides more than satisfactory service.

Hong Kong to Seattle

If you’re like me, you live to travel. I’ve trekked across the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe. However, while I love Seattle, I’ve never had the pleasure of stepping foot in Hong Kong. Hopefully, someday soon, I can change that.

Let’s say I had the money to make that trip happen. How would I get from Asia to the Pacific Northwest? How much would it cost? How long are the flights? Are there similarities between the two cities? Differences?

Hong Kong sits on the Southeastern corner of China and is known for its strategically located harbor, which has attracted people from around the World for centuries. It’s a hub of trade, entertainment, and once served as one of the most important colonies of the British Empire. Now an autonomous territory, Hong Kong plays a strategic role in international relations, particularly between Asia and the Western World.

Seattle is located on the Puget Sound, within the State of Washington. Like Hong Kong, it’s famous for fresh seafood, unique dining options, and fine hotels. Seattle is also home to wine, fish markets, professional sport franchises, music, and art.

The typical flight from Hong Kong to Seattle lasts a little more than 12 hours. Yea, almost half a day of flying. What about cost? Well, that depends on the airline and the time of year in which you travel. As I write this article, most airlines appear to offer flights from $500 to $1000, round-trip. Obviously, if you want to fly in business or first class, these prices could double; however, it’s helpful to know that it won’t break the bank to travel from Hong Kong to Seattle.

So, what should one expect when they land in Seattle? Both cities are known for fresh seafood, quality restaurants, and entertainment, but what separates them? How are they different? One major difference: the weather. Seattle is known for rain. It’s not unusual for it to rain 3, 4, 5 times a week, sometimes more. In Hong Kong, however, rain is less frequent. Hong Kong is also generally warmer. If you’re traveling from Hong Kong, you might want to pack an umbrella and some warmer clothes. In Seattle, regardless of the time of year, you need to be prepared for rain. You also need to realize that you may not see the sun as often. Most days, Seattle is overcast, and certain weeks, the sun barely makes an appearance. It may not seem significant, but you would be surprised how a lack of sunlight can affect even the most optimistic of people.

  1. We’ve talked about the two cities. We discussed the similarities, differences, costs, and travel tips. Now, all that’s left is to book your trip from Hong Kong to Seattle. I’m already looking at flights. I invite you to do the same.

Should you buy a Luxury Performance Boat?

I live in the Midwest, and in the summer, my family and I love to go to the lake. My daughter can’t wait to put her feet in the sand, and she will swim for hours. While she enjoys the beach, her and our favorite past-time is taking the boat out.

Years ago, my parents bought a speed boat. It’s nice; we can ski, fish, tube, and stop by our favorite shore-side restaurant. Recently, as our family has grown in size, it’s been more and more difficult to get everyone on the boat. We’ve been forced to take turns, which everyone agrees isn’t nearly as fun. My parents decided to make a change and looked into pontoon boats.

At first, my brothers, wife, and I weren’t excited to trade in our sporty, sleak speed boat, for a giant, comparatively slow pontoon. However, after we took the pontoon out on the lake, we fell in love. All of us, our entire family, our dogs, and even our neighbors, can fit comfortably. The pontoon has enough power to pull my daughter on skis, and is large enough to allow us parents to anchor the boat and have a drink while our kids jump off the side of the pontoon.

Before my parents bought their pontoon, they voiced an interest in luxury performance boats. They, like us, thought the most luxurious, modern boats would be smaller, sporty, and not a pontoon boat. We were wrong. After browsing the selection of boats, we found that some of the most durable, modern looking boats were the pontoons. Many are equipped with modern, top-of-the line stereo systems, navigation, depth finders, and large, sturdy tables and chairs where families like us can have a meal together.

Besides the beautiful design and spacious layouts of the pontoons, we were also pleasantly surprised that we wouldn’t have to give-up power. The sales team showed us pontoons with the best engines in the business. Unlike pontoons of the past, which were known for being clunky, these modern boats were fast, and able to both hold a large number of people and tow a skier, depending on the circumstances.

So, if you’re in the market for a new boat, take a look at a pontoon. You may be hesitant, like we were. You may think they’re out of your price range; they’re not. There are many affordable options. You may not believe that they’re the right boat for you, but, please, at least give them a try. Who knows, you may, like us, be very surprised and pleased with what you find. Pontoons can be just as luxurious, just as fun, as any other boat on the market. Take it out on the water and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Going on Holiday without Spending a Lot of Money

Going on holiday is usually one of your most memorable times of the year. You get to spend time seeing something new or returning to a place you love. You may get to visit friends or relatives you don’t get to see regularly, and you may even make new friends. However, holidays can also be costly. Even if you carefully budget for them, you may discover that you spend more on a holiday than you expected to. Here are a few tips you can use to help you spend less.

Remember to Plan for Food and Souvenirs

You will know the cost of many of your holiday expenses, including your travel and lodging, beforehand. Anything that you are pre-booking or pre-purchasing, including car hire services and tickets to events, can be budgeted for. However, most people don’t really budget for their food or shopping expenses. You need to remember to do this, especially if you’re on a tight budget. One thing you can do to determine your food expenses is to do an online search for restaurants in the area. Get an idea of what the average prices are so you can better determine your eating costs per day.

For souvenirs, you have a couple of options. You can set aside a lump sum to spend on shopping, but if you do this, you have to carefully keep track of how much money you’re spending. A better option may be to decide how much you want to spend and if you want to buy gifts for others. For your own spending, decide on a maximum and, if possible, bring that amount in cash. It’s much easier to track your spending that way than it is with a credit card. For your gifts, make a list of everyone you want to buy for and set an amount for each. This will help you stay within a price range.

Shop Around

Don’t book the first flight or hotel you come across, even if you think it’s the best. Always take some time to look at your options. You can find out more information on booking cheap flights, hotels, and car hire online, especially through websites designed to help make comparisons easier. By checking around and finding the most affordable flights, hotels, and car hires possible, you can save a good deal of money. That, in turn, means that you may be able to eat at fancier restaurants or do more shopping.

Look for Extras

When you’re looking at lodging, look to see if your room includes breakfast. If it does, you can save money by eating at your hotel every morning before going out for the day. Some events may also include a meal with the ticket purchase. If you’re not doing a car hire, remember that many hotels do have complimentary shuttles that run to the airport. Be sure to take these things into account when you’re budgeting since it can help you stretch your holiday budget a little further.

A Great Alternative to the Package Holiday

While relaxing in the sun on a white sandy beach is nice, it can get a bit monotonous after a few years, and we yearn for something a little more challenging. One of the alternatives that appeals to many is a biking holiday, as it combines activity with adventure. In the UK, cycling has enjoyed a surge over the past decade, as people opt for a healthier lifestyle, and with cycling becoming a part of your life, what better way to take a holiday than on your bike?

What to Do?

Many families cycle together and the idea of actually doing that in a holiday setting definitely appeals, yet how does one go about arranging such a thing? Luckily, there are online companies that specialise in cycling holidays, and with more than 100 itineraries to choose from, in many different locations, you are spoilt for choice. The company would provide all of the services, and with qualified cyclist guides to show you the best of the region, you really can’t go wrong.

Tailored Packages

You and your family might be experienced riders, and would like to take a self-guided tour, in which case the tour company would recommend a route and facilitate the trip as you require. On the other hand, you might be relatively new to cycling and would prefer a guided tour that can go at your pace, with no demanding riding sections.

A Range of Experiences

A cycling holiday gives you so much, as you can sample the local culture, while riding along breath taking routes, and with professional guides, you will get to see all the attractions. Variations include boat and bike holidays, which offer you a combination of staying in a floating hotel as you travel through the region, and with daily biking excursions, you get to see a lot more of the countryside. There are cyclists and there are cyclists, and because of this, you would join a group with similar riding experience and age, and this would facilitate a smooth journey.

Health and Well-Being

A holiday is supposed to be a time when we recharge our batteries, and that might not means doing nothing, and with a balance of exercise and new experiences, you will have a healthy and positive experience. Cycling is so popular because it combines physical fitness with the many places you visit and people you meet, and with everything at your own pace, you can only enjoy yourself.

The Social Aspect

A biking holiday is a great way to meet new people, as you wouldn’t be the only group to experience the tour. Many lifelong friendships began on a biking holiday, and you will meet many likeminded people who are also enjoying the cycling experience. This kind of holiday is ideal for single people, families, or even retired couples. With so many countries to choose from, each with many different tour routes, you can be very specific about the region you wish to see. The guide will know the route, so you will get to spend time in the right places and see how the local people live, while having a level of interaction.

A cycling holiday is a unique experience and the best way to discover that is to source a reputable online tour organiser.

You’ve packed your bags, made arrangements for your plants and pets, ordered the tickets, booked the hotel—and it’s just as you’re pulling into the airport parking lot that you realise you haven’t yet accounted for the time it takes to park your car. Sure, it may seem simple enough, but anyone who’s ever driven for minutes on end through the long winding corridors of an airport parking garage knows that finding a parking spot can feel like a trip unto itself—and not in a good way!

Car Services

While you are away on a trip, your car is just sitting there in a parking lot somewhere. On the one hand, it’s good that it’s safe and sound. Some Very Good Reasons to Book a Barcelona Holiday

I love Barcelona. The city is a venue that you can explore on foot or by bus. Whilst the city is big, it is also one that can be easily travelled by walking or by taking public transport. Whilst there are plenty of sites that are listed in guidebooks, I was able to find some out-of-the-way sites that are off the beaten path.

Off the Beaten Track

For example, I walked up toward Horta one day where I became acquainted with a charming and inviting place called the Sant Andreu district. I was also able to take in some beautiful and panoramic views. Naturally, you do not have to limit your discovery of Barcelona to walking or bus travel. The city can also be seen by bicycle. One of the places I cycled to was the Olympic mountain. You can get a good view of Barcelona from on high on this incline.

An Ideal Starting Point

One day, I began a bicycle tour of the city itself by starting at the Placa Catalunya. I love the city square as it is as historically interesting as it is busy. Flocks of pigeons gather here and the fountains are beautiful. This centre portion of Barcelona is where most of the hop-on and hop-off bus tours begin as well. So, it does not matter if you are riding a bike, walking, or travelling by bus; the Placa de Catalunya is an ideal starting point.

So, when you visit Barcelona, you cannot help be intrigued by the beaches, the buildings, and the centre square. Whilst I was in the city, I was also able to enjoy a number of live musical performances. The city boasts some amazing concert halls. For example, the Gran Teatre Del Liceu not only features wonderful programmes but is splendid to view. The building is decorated with plush red carpets, ornate carvings, and a splendid gold leaf décor.

A Memorable Cycling Experience

One day, whilst on a bike, I headed to Born from the square so I could get a good view of the Santa Maria del Mar church. From this point, I headed toward the Ciutadella Park and headed up Passeig de Sant Joan, pedalling with awe beneath the Arc de Triomf.

When I got to the Gran Via, I made a right turn to the Sagrada Familia. From that point, I could bike easily as I was able to get into a cycle lane and take it to Passeig De Gracia. Once you get to this route on your destination, you can view a number of emblematic Barcelona buildings.

Indeed, one of the highlights when I visited Barcelona was seeing some of the city’s modernist architecture, especially the works of Antoni Gaudi. Some of the most famous of the aforementioned is the Sagrada Familia. I also admired Park Güell, a space that I thought emulated an English garden town.

Enjoying the Music

In addition, I was able to see a performance at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, which is yet another modernist building. I definitely want to see the city again, especially when it hosts its music festivals. One festival that I plan to attend is the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona as I am a jazz aficionado.

Whether you enjoy music, architecture, or art, you will find as I did that Barcelona offers attractions that cannot be duplicated anywhere else in your travels.
